Valkyria Chronicles (PS3) Sega 2008
In 2008, Sega released one of their finest games in years, Valkyria Chronicles. The story follows the exploits of a young militia commander and his rag tag squad entering a hopeless war. However, with some brilliant tactics, the war starts turning in their favor which brings out the enemy generals in full force. The game is tactical warfare with an anime flavor. The player orders his soldiers through the battlefield deploying tanks, snipers, and other common military types to win each scenario. The battles flow nicely, and can last for a few hours as some battle maps are huge. The graphics are absolutely amazing, sometimes its seems more like you are watching a movie than playing a video game. The music is also top notch, with awesome symphonic tunes that draw the player into each battle. Valkyria Chronicle was very popular in Japan where it spawned an anime series, manga, and two drama CDs. Two sequels have been made for the PSP as well. For the best experience with this series play the first game, it is one of the best tactical RPGs of this generation.
